Arsenal look to be set to depart with Cesc Fabregas, as the long standing tug of war with Barcelona for the Spaniard finally comes to an end, according to The Sun.
Arsenal have now fallen to third place in the Barclays Premier League after losing to Bolton 2-1 on the weekend, and Fabregas appears ready to make the move he has requested and longed for to Barcelona, as the midfielder goes in search of trophies.
While Wenger had hoped to convince Fabregas to stay with the club, he now reportedly sees it as virtually impossible to do so, particularly after Fabregas made some damning comments about Wenger in a recent interview with a Spanish newspaper.
Barcelona reportedly offered £29 million for Fabregas last summer, but Wenger is now demanding the figure be increased to a mammoth £35 million.
An Arsenal source told The Sun: "There is a feeling Cesc has gone as far as he can with Arsenal.
"He has been with us eight years and believes he has shown great loyalty.
"The team will finish the season empty-handed again and he fears that situation will not change."
