Is this the season we see Trent Alexander-Arnold used in a more advanced position? For now, he’ll continue to be Klopp’s first-choice right-back.

Gomez faces competition from Joel Matip for the second centre-back spot.
Left-back: Andy Robertson
Summer signing Kostas Tsimikas will provide back-up for Robertson at left-back this season.

Will Klopp deploy both Fabinho and Jordan Henderson in the same XI? It’s certainly an option.
Central midfield: Jordan Henderson
Naby Keita may get the nod over Henderson but it’s hard to envisage Klopp dropping his influential captain for the biggest games.
Central midfield: Thiago Alcantara
Thiago wouldn’t have joined Liverpool if he wasn’t assured of a place in Klopp’s first-choice XI. The technically-gifted midfielder could make a massive impact in the Premier League this term.
Left-forward: Sadio Mane
And the front three picks itself, with Sadio Mane starting wide-left.
Right-forward: Mohamed Salah
Salah began the 2020-21 campaign with a hat-trick against Leeds last weekend. Another Premier League Golden Boot incoming?
Centre-forward: Roberto Firmino
Firmino will be looking to score more goals this season (especially at Anfield) but the Brazilian remains a key play in Klopp’s system.
