Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Diogo Jota from Wolves for a fee worth around £45 million.Just 24 hours after they secured a deal to sign Thiago from Bayern Munich, Jurgen Klopp's side have now added a player capable of challenging Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino for a place in the starting line-up.Earlier in the day, 18-year-old Ki-Jana Hoever went the other way to join Nuno Espirito Santo's side.Speaking of Jota's departure, the Wolves insisted that it was a good deal for everyone involved."We did the deal because it is good for everyone," said Nuno. "Diogo was happy here but players like new challenges."Diogo is amazing and everybody knows the relationship we built. What Diogo did for us is absolutely fantastic.p1eijfll36fvlpu71o3irop1ok5f.jpg"I think Diogo is going to the right place and we wish him all the best, knowing that it will never be forgotten, especially by our fans, all the memorable moments that Diogo provided."He will wear the No.20 shirt for the Premier League champions.

Jota initially joined Wolves in the summer of 2017 on a season-long loan from Atletico Madrid. He scored 17 goals in the Championship to help the side earn promotion to the Premier League.

Wolves then signed him permanently for around £10 million and he helped them qualify for the Europa League and a seventh-place finish with nine goals in the Premier League. Last season, he notched 16 in all competitions.

While Jota isn't a guaranteed starter for obvious reasons, he can provide that bit of quality off the bench when required and eases the concern of 'what if one of the front three get injured?'
