Wilfried Zaha returned to Old Trafford on Saturday evening, captaining his Crystal Palace side against Manchester United.Zaha was Sir Alex Ferguson’s final signing at United but only made two Premier League appearances before being sold to Palace for around £6 million in 2015."We like to sign players with potential," Ferguson said at the time of the signing. "We develop players and that's been proven many times. Hopefully the boy enjoys it here."But Ferguson's successor, David Moyes, clearly didn't rate him and he returned to Palace permanently just two years later. He’s since shown his quality in the Premier League which begs the question: ‘Why did United get rid of him so soon?”p1eijk7at91bau1k7m1o94ttc92f.jpgOf course, many of you will have heard why - it involves David Moyes’ daughter. We’re not quite sure where that rumour actually originates from and it certainly hasn’t been confirmed. You certainly didn’t expect Sky Sports pundits to be discussing it ahead of kick-off at Old Trafford. But, then again, you can’t rule anything out where Patrice Evra is concerned.p1eijkd3mqasq10r71c9l10laicvh.jpgThat’s because the former United defender decided to mention Zaha’s ‘affair’ with Moyes’ daughter when discussing his Man Utd career.Evra said: “Such an electric player and I remember what’s real with his career at Manchester United he had this true or untrue affair with David Moyes’ daughter because I remember at the pre-season he was playing every single game but when that news came out, he disappeared.”

Wow.

Obviously, presenter Kelly Cates quickly pointed out that we don’t know whether or not the accusation was true by saying: "We don't know the background to that story so probably best leave that one for now.”

Never change, Patrice.

It must be stressed that Zaha has constantly denied the rumours, recently saying: “I went through so much with United, with England. There were rumours that the reason I wasn’t playing for United was because I slept with David Moyes’ daughter, and no one attempted to clear that up."

He won't thank Evra for bringing it up again, then.

After United lost 3-1 to Palace with Zaha scoring twice, Sky Sports released a statement apologising for the accusations Evra made about player and Moyes' daughter. They said Zaha had never even met Moyes' daughter and that Evra's allegations were false.
