Liverpool have further strengthened their star-studded squad with the additions of Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota from Bayern Munich and Wolverhampton Wanderers, respectively.

Thiago, one of European football’s most revered midfielders, cost Liverpool an initial £20 million (potentially rising to £25 million with add-ons).

While Jota, 23, has set the Reds back £41 million (potentially rising to £45 million with add-ons).

But where does this leave Jurgen Klopp’s side on the list of the most valuable teams (in terms of market value) in world football?

Transfermarkt have updated their list - and Liverpool are no longer third in the list.

15. Napoli (Market value: £531.16m)

Kalidou Koulibaly, valued at £58.5 million, has been linked with a move to Manchester City this summer but Napoli’s most expensive player remains with the Italian club for now.

Other players with reasonably high market values at Napoli include Fabian Ruiz (£45 million) and Lorenzo Insigne (£43.2 million).
