Leeds United have had an absolutely enthralling start to the new season.

Involved in two 4-3 clashes, drama has certainly been high in the list of things to expect at Elland Road this term.

The Whites may have lost against Liverpool last week, but on Saturday, they were at their free-flowing best in attack, leading Fulham 4-1 at one stage.

It will be disappointing for Bielsa that he allowed the Cottagers to sneak back into proceedings, but it should serve as a wake-up call that the defence still needs improving.

The middle two have already been swapped around in the early weeks of the season but with Liam Cooper fit on Saturday to play, he and Robin Koch can now start to find some familiarity and rhythm.

Scoring goals is never going to be an issue for Leeds, but it's leaking them on a regular basis that could put a dampner on their Premier League stay.

You sense that a few new signings will improve the squad, and they may well start with the addition of a goalkeeper.

Marcelo Bielsa and Scott Parker

Illan Meslier has been entrusted in their opening two league games, but Kiko Casilla captained the side in midweek against Hull. That was a controversial decision but then he was left out of the side entirely at the weekend.

One name that has been thrown around this summer is Sergio Romero. A report from The Mirror last month suggested that Leeds were weighing up a move for the veteran and were keeping an eye on his situation.

Well, they've now been handed the perfect opportunity to land the experienced Argentine.

The Sun reported on Sunday morning that Manchester United are willing to offload the stopper and are now actively searching for a new club for the 33-year-old.

It was then confirmed that Leeds would happily buy the player. Failing that, they'd happily settle for a loan deal.

Sergio Romero

GIVEMESPORT'S Matt Dawson says...

If Leeds can ship Casilla on this summer then a move for Romero certainly makes sense - providing he starts anyway.

Meslier has had a rough beginning to life in the Premier League but there is every hope that he can kick on and become a dominant force.

After all, he is only 20 years of age and thought of highly at Elland Road.

With that in mind, perhaps a loan switch for the Man United player would be the best move here. It gives Meslier a year to mature, and also learn from a highly experience professional on the international stage.

Sergio Romero

Who better to learn from than someone labelled as an "immense talent" by Eric Bailly. That may not mean a great deal to many, but it shows just how highly the United players rate and respect him.

But there are further reasons behind a loan move. If they swooped for Romero on a temporary basis then it's highly unlikely they'd have to pay all of his £70k-a-week wages.

Landing him on a permanent deal and then forking out a salary like that would be madness.
