Meslier has had a rough beginning to life in the Premier League but there is every hope that he can kick on and become a dominant force.
After all, he is only 20 years of age and thought of highly at Elland Road.
With that in mind, perhaps a loan switch for the Man United player would be the best move here. It gives Meslier a year to mature, and also learn from a highly experience professional on the international stage.
Who better to learn from than someone labelled as an "immense talent" by Eric Bailly. That may not mean a great deal to many, but it shows just how highly the United players rate and respect him.
But there are further reasons behind a loan move. If they swooped for Romero on a temporary basis then it's highly unlikely they'd have to pay all of his £70k-a-week wages.
Landing him on a permanent deal and then forking out a salary like that would be madness.
