The last week or so for Wolves has been an absolute whirlwind.

After beating Sheffield United, they lost to Stoke, and then sold one of their biggest attacking threats.

However, there can be few complaints about taking in £40m for Diogo Jota.

Nuno Santo has been busy in the transfer market and while that deal was being completed, they sealed a switch for young full-back Ki-Jana Hoever.

Their transfer business won't stop there either.

A move for Djibril Sidibe was touted on Saturday and then on Sunday, their efforts to sign a player at Barcelona took on a whole new dynamic.

According to various reports, they are set to sign full-back Nelson Semedo for a fee of £34.8m. That's a lot of money, but they've acted quick to spend the cash they sold Jota for.

And it appears that the Midlanders still have some money to spare.

According to a report from The Mirror, Wolves also want to sign Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer.

After the Reds landed Thiago from Bayern Munich, there is a feeling that Oxalde-Chamberlain's minimal amount of game time will now become even slimmer.

Thus, Wolves are hoping to convince the Merseysiders that there is a deal to be done for the 27-year-old.

It's unclear whether any discussions were held for his signature during the Hoever and Jota deals, but it's stated that Liverpool will want to recoup as much as possible of the £25m they paid Arsenal in 2017.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

GIVEMESPORT'S Matt Dawson says...

When you think about Nuno and his system, you'd struggle to find a player more equipped for the Wolves style of play.

Oxlade-Chamberalin was a capable wing-back during his days at Arsenal, but most importantly, the England international is extremely versatile.

The Ox can also play on the wings but he is at home in the middle of the pitch, using his strong and energetic nature to help out in offensive and defensive situations.

He has 196 Premier League appearances to his name and scored a career-high eight goals last term.

Despite rarely starting, he was still impressive and has a great deal to offer.

Former Arsenal player Aaron Ramsey sums him up perfectly: "Chambo is a big threat going forward, he’s very explosive and quick off the mark, he can go past players with ease and his final ball in has been very good."

Oxlade-Chamberlain offered up just two assists last term so he clearly has plenty to do by the way of creativity.

However, if Wolves are looking for a versatile goal threat, then the Liverpool midfielder is their man.

It would be a smart signing providing he can stay fit on a regular basis.
