Tiemoue Bakayoko's Chelsea career has been one to forget.

He arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2017 after a breakout season in France which saw him play a key role in AS Monaco's Ligue 1 title win.

The midfielder cost £40 million and was expected to slot in alongside N'Golo Kante to offer Chelsea a new dynamic... but that didn't happen.

Bakayoko's first season was a disappointment and despite playing 43 games in all competitions, he registered just three goals and three assists.

That certainly isn't the kind of contribution fans were expecting from a £40m signing.

But things got even worse the following year. After a poor pre-season with Chelsea, the Frenchman was shipped on-loan to AC Milan in Serie A

There he hoped to recapture some of the form he had shown two years prior, but that wasn't the case.

Bakayoko struggled at AC Milan

Bakayoko was labelled 'confused’, 'a disaster', and 'messy' during his time with Milan and by 2019, he had returned on-loan to Monaco.

Another dreadful season saw the midfielder score just once and assist twice in 23 games. He's now back at Chelsea with no chance of getting in the first-team and his career is at a crossroads.

But according to a report from The Sun, Bakayoko's nightmare could soon be over. The paper are reporting that thes Blue are in talks to sell him to Paris Saint-Germain for £32 million.

Bakayoko could be set to leave Chelsea

The Ligue 1 champions have declared an interest in taking the player on-loan this season and could pay a fee of £4.6m to do so.

Chelsea would then demand the remaining £27.4m be paid next summer, making the move permanent and finally get the midfielder off their books.

If director Marina Granovskaia can pull off this sale, it would be incredible business for the Blues.

Bakayoko could leave Chelsea

Bakayoko has barely shown he's worth £3.2m in a Chelsea shirt, let alone 10 times that, so to recoup almost all the money they paid Monaco for the midfielder back in 2017 would be brilliant.
