The Premier League is back (not that it was gone for long) and for a lot of football fans, that means putting on some bets.

A weekend’s action is often more more enjoyable with a cheeky flutter, although that’s not the case for anyone who backed Manchester United at the weekend.

The Red Devils’ 3-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday would have ruined a lot of accumulators.

However, there will have been a few winners and one fan who’s currently celebrating a massive windfall is Aaron Ross Milligan.

Aaron won just under £20,000 on Sunday following a spectacular £5, seven-part bet involving just two matches.

They were the midday matches between Southampton vs Tottenham and Rangers vs Hibernian.

In the Southampton vs Tottenham game, which the visitors won 5-2, Aaron needed Harry Kane to score, Oriol Romeu and Matt Doherty to be booked and both teams to score.

Son Heung-min cancelled out Danny Ings’ opener in the first half and Romeu was shown a yellow card after just five minutes, so Aaron was in a good position at half-time.

However, he had to wait for the final two parts to come in. Doherty was booked in the 79th minute and, after providing four assists for Son, Kane got on the scoresheet with eight minutes remaining.

In Hibs’ game against Rangers, Aaron backed Scott Arfield to score and Paul McGinn and Paul Hanlon to be booked.

There was little worry with this one. All three requirements were met on the hour mark when McGinn received a yellow card.

So Kane’s goal left Aaron nearly £20,000 richer. The exact amount was £19,880.

Well played, Aaron - and let us know who you’re backing next weekend, please.
