It’s been an incredible few days for Liverpool Football Club.On Friday, they signed Thiago from Bayern Munich for a fee that could rise to £25 million. On Saturday, they signed Diogo Jota from Wolves for a fee that could rise to £45 million. On Sunday, they beat Chelsea 2-0 thanks to a Sadio Mane brace. So what could happen on Monday to carry on this run?Well, French outlet L’Equipe may have just provided it.That’s because they’ve produced a report that Liverpool are in regular contact with Kylian Mbappe over a deal next summer.

#Mbappe2021, anyone?

The report does also state that Real Madrid are also in contact with Mbappe and you have to admit the Bernabeu is a far likelier destination.

But you can’t blame Liverpool fans from getting a little bit excited at these reports.

GIVEMESPORT's Rob Hoskin says:

We'd hate to pour cold water on Liverpool fans' excitement but surely they won't be signing Mbappe next summer.

According to Transfermarkt, the Frenchman is worth a ridiculous £162 million. Okay, come next season he'd only have one year remaining on his current deal and could, therefore, be available for less. But just think of the wages in that case. He'd probably command around £500,000-per-week - a figure that would obliterate Liverpool's current wage structure.

Recent reports have indicated that Mbappe is, indeed, unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain and will be looking to leave the club next summer.

But it's far more likely that Real Madrid will break the bank to sign him. Current striker Karim Benzema will be 33-years-old in December and they would be in desperate need for someone of Mbappe's status.

The draw of playing under his idol and compatriot, Zinedine Zidane, certainly appeals to him as does the strong French contingent at the club.

While Liverpool supporters will be delighted to hear they're interested in making a deal happen, it seems there is only one place for him - Real Madrid.
