Global technology company Microsoft have launched a new way for users to play their favourite Xbox One games on the go for free.
Indeed, players will now be able to have access to Xbox One titles remotely following the release of Microsoft’s latest Xbox Beta app for the Android.
Up until now, this had only been available for Xbox Insiders.
In addition, you will be able to use this app to link up to your new Xbox Series X and Series S in the future and enable you to set up your new console faster.
This feature, otherwise known as Xbox remote play, will enable Xbox One owners to play games that they have already downloaded from any location. You will, however, obviously need to own an Xbox to be able make use of this service.
Kristen Mann, principle program manager at Xbox Experiences, explains: “You’ll use the Xbox app to get your new Xbox Series X or Series S set up for the first time. Use the mobile app to log in and select your settings while your console updates.
"Using your phone to setup your console and account will save valuable time and get you ready to play faster than ever before.
“Once you are set up, use the app to install any game to your console, manage your game library to free up space, or as a remote control.”
The free app is, however, separate from the Microsoft xCloud service as you stream the games directly from your console instead of the cloud centre.
Gamers are able to download the Xbox Beta app for free from the Google Play Store. It is not clear yet when the app will be available on the iOS.
