Luis Suarez's Barcelona career is all but over.

The Uruguayan's departure from the Blaugrana will be officially confirmed soon and he's set to join Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid.

Suarez arrived in Catalonia in the summer of 2014 and has gone on to win every trophy available during his six years with Barca.

In his 283 games for the club in all competitions, the 33-year-old has scored 189 goals and notched 109 assists, an astonishing record.

Suarez will rightfully go down as one of the Blaugrana's greatest ever players, despite his noticeable physical decline in recent years.

Suarez celebrates a goal

The Uruguayan's all-action style appears to have taken a toll on his ageing body, but the impact of Mother Nature should not dent Suarez's legacy.

After all, this is possibly the greatest striker of the modern era we're talking about. Why do we say that? Because he's far more than just a goal scorer. Like Lionel Messi, he's also an elite creator.

Thanks to a brilliant Reddit thread by Shanal183, we can reveal that no out-and-out striker since assist stats started being properly recorded has contributed with more assists.

What's even more astonishing is that of the 18 strikers to have delivered 100 or more assists, Suarez's assist-per-game ratio is the best.

Hulk is the only other player on the list to come close to the Uruguayan's ratio, while the Barcelona legend is 69 assists clear of second place.

Not bad, eh? So whenever someone down the pub tries to argue that Suarez isn't one of the all time greats due to a few slightly average - by his standards - seasons with Barca, just hit them with these numbers.
