Barcelona have confirmed that Luis Suarez has signed for Atletico Madrid in a deal worth up to €6 million. The Uruguayan striker has departed following six seasons at the Camp Nou in which he won four La Liga titles, the Champions League and the European Golden Shoe.Suarez scored 198 goals for Barcelona, winning 13 trophies in total at the club. His farewell press conference will be held at 12:30pm CEST on Thursday at Camp Nou.A statement on Barcelona's website read: "FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Luis Suarez. The Madrid club will pay FC Barcelona 6 million euros in variables."FC Barcelona would like to publicly express their gratitude to Luis Suarez for his commitment and dedication and wishes him all the best for the future."Atletico Madrid later confirmed the deal on Twitter.

Suarez bows out at Barcelona as a club hero.

His tally of 198 goals in 283 matches is remarkable; there probably would have been a Ballon d'Or win in one of those seasons had Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo not been around.

So, what does this mean for Barcelona?

For a start, it means that their once fabled 'MSN' attack - Messi, Suarez and Neymar - is now down to one member.

Messi has lost two of his closest teammates this summer in Suarez and Arturo Vidal, which is unlikely to help Barcelona's attempts to convince the six-time Ballon d'Or winner to stay beyond 2021.

But Ronald Koeman's side have a young attacker who they are very excited about in Ansu Fati, and if Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele can provide better support to Messi this season, then Suarez won't be missed at the Camp Nou.

The 33-year-old scored 16 goals in the league last season, his lowest return since his first campaign at the club.
