Tottenham Hotspur face a pivotal season.After finishing sixth in the Premier League last term the north London side are preparing to endure a season in Europe's second competition, the Europa League.Of course there's nothing wrong with that as a competition, but it's certainly not where Daniel Levy wanted to be after moving into their state of the art stadium over 12 months ago.Spurs are a side in need of a rebuild, but thankfully they have the right man in charge.Jose Mourinho is a proven winner by nature and that will stand the team in excellent stead as they look to get themselves back on track.While he's a fan of the majority of Tottenham's squad, few could be surprised that the former Man United boss moved quickly to add experience and leadership to his ranks as he looks to turn Spurs into genuine contenders for silverware.Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart and Matt Doherty might not be the groundbreaking additions that fans wanted, but they'll certainly add to the mentality of the group.
As for Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale, the duo from Real Madrid have meant that Spurs have sent a huge signal of intent to their rivals in the Premier League.But Mourinho and Tottenham are still looking for more.A centre-back is near the top of the list for the north London side with various names already linked with a move.Milan Skriniar seems to be the player at the top of that list at present, but according to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham are still interested in Ruben Dias.
Taking to Twitter, Romano said: "Meeting today in Milan between Tottenham and Inter for Milan Skriniar.
"Spurs won’t match €60m price tag - Skriniar value according to Tottenham Hotspur is around €50m add ons included.
"No agreement at thw moment. Talks on.
"Ruben Dias still a serious option."

While Milan Skriniar appears to be Tottenham's main target, Ruben Dias is not a bad alternative.
Valued at £35million by Transfermarkt, the Benfica star is one of the best young defenders in Europe and that's why he's attracting such interest.
One thing that could pose a problem is the price tag.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic Spurs are running a little bit low on transfer funds which means that they may have to sell before they can buy.
That's due to the deals for Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale proving fairly expensive.
Players such as Dele Alli, Erik Lamela and Serge Aurier have been linked with a move away, and that may be what's needed to help Spurs back into the market for a defender.
This is certainly one to watch, but there appears to be a long way to go before Tottenham strike a deal.
