The release of FIFA 21 is just around the corner.

It's this time of year that football fans start to get very excited about the annual drop and we don't have long to wait now, with the game hitting shelves on October 9.

EA Sports have already teased us with improvements to Career Mode, Ultimate Team, Pro Clubs and VOLTA, while also revealing a few features specific to next-generation consoles.

It all sounds rather exciting.

But one huge thing will be missing for Leeds United fans. Elland Road.

The home of the newly-promoted Premier League side will not be featured in FIFA 21 at launch.

EA Sports have blamed the late finish to the season as the reason that they have not been able to recreate the stadium in their game.

Leeds fans are very upset with FIFA 21

"In FIFA 21, we're excited to include five new stadiums to play in, with a sixth still to come," a spokesperson said.

"While the later than planned end to the 2019/20 season meant we weren't able to recreate Elland Road in an EA Sports FIFA game for the first time ever in time for the launch of FIFA 21, we are committed to giving fans the chance to play in all 20 Premier League stadiums and will provide more news on post-launch updates in the future."

That'll come as very disappointing news for many Leeds fans.

Elland Road will not be in the game

Many gamers have waited 16 years for their team to get back into the top-flight in the hope that they'll be able to play at Elland Road in FIFA

But it won't be happening just yet and fans have taken to social media to share their annoyance with EA.

"No Elland Road on FIFA is that some sort of joke? Produces one of the best atmospheres in England. Here football fans have Bramall lane instead that’s a proper stadium," one tweeted.

Another wrote: "No Elland Road in Fifa 21 least that’s a good enough reason to not buy that s**t game this year."

Leeds won't have a home in FIFA 21

"Not buying FIFA. I am not playing at Eastpoint Arena again, no way," a third added.

While Elland Road won't be in FIFA from day one, it seems EA Sports are working to get it into the game as soon as possible. That won't come soon enough for some fans, though.
