Leeds United are loving life right now.

After 16 years in the wilderness of the English Football League the Whites are now back where they belong.

Things started to change for the better two years ago when Marcelo Bielsa was appointed as head coach.

In truth, they've rarely looked back since.

Bielsa took on the challenge of building a first team that was capable of outworking and outperforming the opposition week in, week out; while simultaneously developing young talent from the club's academy.

While it was the senior lads that ultimately got the job of securing promotion done, you have to give credit to the likes of Robbie Gott and Jamie Shackleton who also played a vital role.

That's the reason why the Argentine will continue to invest in the stars of tomorrow.

Of course Leeds are looking at senior additions this summer with Robin Koch and Rodrigo already at the club - not to mention the flurry of other stars who could follow them.

But Victor Orta has also worked to bring in young players such as Cody Drameh, Sam Greenwood and Joe Gelhardt who will all be looking to make their breakthrough to the first team in the coming years.

Leeds are also hoping to add another young talent into the fold, however this will be with an even longer view as the focus.

Reports from Four Four Two have claimed that Leeds United have had a bid accepted for Sam Campbell.

The 16-year-old currently plays for Scottish side Motherwell and is tipped for an incredibly bright future in the game.

Motherwell are said to have offered him a three-year deal to stay at the club, however the lure of moving to the Premier League could be too much.

Liverpool and Brighton have also had an offer accepted by the Scottish side, while Crystal Palace have also expressed an interest.

Campbell will now choose where he'd like to continue his development as he reaches a crucial stage of his football upbringing.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

What a decision for the young man.

By all accounts Sam Campbell is an incredibly talented young player and that's been shown by the quality of the clubs that are keen.

The defender must now choose where is the best place for him to continue his development.

While staying with Motherwell may be best for getting into the first team at the earliest opportunity, the Premier League interest will certainly give him a good platform.

Leeds United, Liverpool and Brighton all have an impressive recent track record of developing players and giving them a chance in the first team.

If the Whites are to secure a deal then Marcelo Bielsa will be crucial to the youngster's decision.

That means that every option is a good one.

It'll be interesting to see how this one pans out and how the future prospects of Campbell shape up in the coming years as a result.
