Luis Suarez has officially departed Barcelona.

In truth, the writing has been on the wall for some time, but that hasn't made it any easier for the Blaugrana to wave goodbye to one of their greatest ever players.

To the surprise of many, Atletico Madrid will be Suarez's next destination after six years at Camp Nou and he marked his transition across Spain with a farewell press conference this week.

Suarez bids his goodbye

Suarez was seen crying in his car before one of his final trips to the Barcelona training ground and was once again fighting back the tears when he reminisced on his time in Catalonia.

And amidst all the goodbyes, Suarez was sure to tip his hat to Lionel Messi, who has not only been a sensational strike partner at the club, but also an incredibly close friend.

According to Sky Sports, Suarez recalled alongside Josep Maria Bartomeu: "When I got to Barcelona everyone said be careful with Leo, that he was the main striker at the club.

"But in our time together we always tried to perform as well as we could and I can leave here feeling very proud.

"It has been a crazy month, many things have been said and leaked that were invented, many things that made me angry. But everyone knows how good a relationship I have with Leo."

It really is the end of an era with Suarez's departure from Camp Nou marking the complete dismantlement of the famed 'MSN' with Neymar having left for PSG three years ago.

Video of Messi and Suarez's assists

But right up until Suarez's final game in the famous red and blue jersey, he maintained his remarkable partnership with Messi and it's incredibly sad that we'll never see this again.

However, that doesn't mean we can't celebrate the joyous collaboration it was regardless and YouTuber 'Wouva' has hailed the Suarez-Messi connection in perfect fashion.

That's because they've compiled a brilliant video showing all 86 of the assists that Messi and Suarez provided for each other during their time at Barcelona - check it out down below:

We're not crying, you're crying.

Watching the video, you really get the impression that Suarez and Messi were communicating telepathically, always finding each other with pinpoint passes, crosses and through-balls.

But in terms of the greatest Suarez and Messi moment, I think we can all agree that came in the form of their legendary pass penalty against Celta Vigo.

The video of Messi cheekily slipping the ball to Suarez for him to slot the ball into the bottom corner will be replayed for years and decades to come.

So, sure, fans have every right to emotional about one of the greatest strike partnerships in history coming to end, but let's enjoy the memories and be thankful it happened at all.
