Neal Maupay produced an outrageous Panenka penalty during Brighton's 3-2 defeat vs Manchester United.Tariq Lamptey was brought down in the penalty area by Bruno Fernandes giving Brighton the opportunity to take the lead at the Amex Stadium. After his two goals against Newcastle last week, Maupay was clearly high on confidence. And you could certainly see that as he dinked the ball brilliantly down the middle making David de Gea look silly. He even celebrated with a 'cry baby' celebration to really rub it in.In fact, the Spanish goalkeeper wasn’t happy with Maupay’s outrageous spot-kick and proceeded to kick the ball at the Brighton striker in frustration.

TV footage didn’t show it but BT Sport co-commentator Steve McManaman revealed all.

"It's actually quite funny. Firstly, it's quite sad there's no fans there to witness that,” McManaman said.

"But when the ball goes out the net, David de Gea kicks the ball at Maupay. He doesn't kick it very hard but you can see the frustration in the keeper. But it's a brilliant penalty."

And now, footage has emerged of the incident.

Okay, it wasn’t particularly hard and it rolled along the floor but the frustration was clear for all to see.

Take a look:

You can’t blame him, can you?

Fortunately for De Gea and his United side, they were level minutes later as Lewis Dunk scored an own goal.

The second half was carnage as Brighton were awarded another penalty only for VAR to overrule it. Then, Marcus Rashford saw a goal disallowed by VAR before he scored a legitimate goal to put United 2-1 ahead.

Brighton thought they had earned a deserved equaliser in the fifth minute of injury-time as Solly March headed in a late, late equaliser at the back post.

However, United went up the other head and forced a corner. Harry Maguire saw his header cleared off the line as referee Chris Kavanagh blew for full-time. But it wasn't the end of the game because the United players were appealing for a penalty for Maupay's handball.

VAR checked it and adjudged Maupay to have handled it, giving United a penalty AFTER full-time.

Bruno Fernandes stepped up and scored with the last kick of the game.

Phew.

Maupay will be doing the cry baby for real...
