Franck Ribery reminded everyone why he was one of the greatest footballers of his generation against Inter Milan this weekend.
You'd be forgiven for having lost track of Ribery's career since he waved goodbye to Bayern Munich in 2019, but the Frenchman is proving that he's got plenty left in the tank with Fiorentina.
The Florentine-based club had opened their Serie A campaign with a 1-0 win over Torino, but it was their sophomore effort against Inter that made headlines across the continent.
Classic at the San Siro
Christian Kouamé fired Fiorentina into the lead within three minutes at the San Siro and it wasn't until first-half stoppage time that Lautaro Martínez was able to draw the scores level.
Federico Ceccherini then put through his own net after the break to give Inter the lead, but Fiorentina showed incredible spirit to flip the game on its head and race into a 3-2 advantage.
It was Gaetano Castrovilli who put the underdogs back on the terms, but it was a moment of magic from Ribery that made it 3-2 as the Frenchman turned provider for Federico Chiesa.
Masterclass from Ribery
Ribery seemed to slice the entire Inter midfield and defence in half with one incisive through-ball and it was a flash of genius that deserved at least a point.
Nevertheless, Antonio Conte's men rallied during the dying moments with Romelu Lukaku bagging an equaliser and Danilo D'Ambrosio sparing Inter's blushes with a last-gasp winner.
So, sure, Fiorentina might have made the trip down south empty-handed, at least as far as the history books are concerned, but Ribery will have plenty to take from the experience.
Ribery's incredible individual highlights
We say that because, even if you take away his jaw-dropping assist, it was still a remarkable performance from the 37-year-old that looked to be straight out of his 2013 Ballon d'Or form.
Ribery's creativity, speed, dribbling, vision and passing was simply out of this world and it should come as no shock that his individual highlights have now gone viral across social media.

The word 'genius' is often overused in sport, but let his performance serve as a reminder that Ribery is one of the finest footballers of the modern era.
Sure, it's a long time since we saw him producing displays like those on a regular basis, but that doesn't make it any less incredible to see flashes of his very best once again.
Besides, it's remarkable to think that Ribery is creeping closer and closer to his 40th birthday and you have to wonder how many seasons we are away from seeing him hang up his boots.
Let us hope that Ribery's performance against Inter Milan not only reminds us all of his majestic talents, but also encourages him to stick around for a little longer.
