Thiago Silva had an afternoon to forget during his Premier League debut on Sunday.
Chelsea had signed the Brazilian to shore up a defence that conceded as many goals as Brighton last season, but Silva seemed to have the opposite effect at West Bromwich Albion.
In fact, it took goals from Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham to ensure that Frank Lampard's men rescued a point from the jaws of defeat.

It was, in truth, a pretty impressive achievement when you consider the Blues found themselves 3-0 down at half-time, albeit to a side that many fans are tipping to finish rock bottom.
And there could be no escaping the embarrassment for Silva who was woefully at fault for the second goal, conceding possession in his own half to allow Callum Robinson to score.
Marry that to the fact he failed to make a single tackle at the Hawthorns and was dribbled past twice for one of the worst debuts in the Premier League that you're likely to see.
Disastrous Premier League debuts
However, here at GIVEMESPORT, we've decided to take some of the heat away from Silva by looking at other occasions where players have had a debut disaster in England's top flight.
Whether it's outright their first appearance in the league or their bow for a new club in the division, we've honed in on 15 instances that will make Silva feel a little less lonely.

1. Teddy Sheringham vs Tottenham Hotspur
The pressure was always on for Sheringham when he pulled on a Manchester United jersey for the very first time against the club he'd just left and it was the definition of a debut disaster.
Sheringham missed a penalty after taking over responsibilities from Eric Cantona, ballooning the rebound over the bar too, before having to be bailed out by two late United goals.
2. Joe Cole vs Arsenal
Cole actually looked pretty decent during his first 45 minutes in a Liverpool shirt, but everything turned on its head when the ex-Chelsea man received a straight red just before half-time.
3. Laurent Koscielny vs Liverpool
And, astonishingly, the very player that Cole fouled was also sent off on his debut later in the game, picking up two yellow cards after 90 minutes to round off a dramatic day at Anfield.
4. Gervinho vs Newcastle United
Speaking of red cards on Arsenal debuts, that exact scenario happened the following season, too, with Gervinho heading for an early bath after being drawn into Joey Barton's shenanigans at Newcastle.
5. Wayne Bridge vs Arsenal
One of the hairiest of the bunch, no doubt about it. Bridge shockingly played a hand in all three Arsenal goals, letting Theo Walcott breeze past him and playing Robin van Persie onside.
To compound his misery, Bridge completed the disasterclass by conceding a penalty. Sheesh.
6. Ali Dia vs Leeds United
Ah yes, the worst Premier League debut of them all. Everybody knows the iconic story of Dia blagging himself a game in England's top flight despite actually being a bang average non-league player.
Remarkably, Dia nearly scored during his one and only cameo off the bench, but his lack of quality quickly became apparent and he was booted out of Southampton shortly afterwards. Iconic.
7. Garry Flitcroft vs Everton
We've already had a fair share of debut sendings off on the list, but Flitcroft really takes the biscuit for being dismissed within three minutes of his Blackburn bow for elbowing Duncan Ferguson.
8. Danny Drinkwater vs Manchester City
Losing 6-1 on your debut isn't good at the best of times, but it's even worse when you're at fault for the first two goals - scored by former teammate Riyad Mahrez, no less - and partially the third.
9. Patrice Evra vs Man City
In the words of Evra himself: "At half-time, we were 2-0 down. Ferguson was raging. 'And YOU, Patrice,' he shouted. 'That's enough for you! You sit down and watch now, because you have to learn English football.'"
10. Emmanuel Frimpong vs Liverpool
Another Arsenal catastrophe with Frimpong being sent off for two yellow cards, one of which for squaring up to Jordan Henderson, literally days after Gervinho suffered the exact same fate.
But even more astonishingly, Frimpong also suffered a nightmare debut for Barnsley in 2014 when he was booked twice again.
11. Fernando Torres vs Liverpool
Like Sheringham, there was no shortage of pressure on Torres' shoulders when his first outing of a £50 million move to Chelsea came against the club that hoovered up said British-record fee.
And it proved to be a catastrophe for El Nino as his missed a glorious chance just minutes into the match, was pocketed by former teammate Daniel Agger and subbed off after 66 minutes.
12. Rio Ferdinand vs Leicester City
Speaking of British record fees... Ferdinand was greeted with chants of 'what a waste of money' at half-time of his debut after his Leeds defence conceded three goals in the opening 30 minutes.
13. Tomas Repka vs Middlesbrough
Not only did West Ham's former record signing suffer the ignominy of picking up two yellow cards on his Premier League debut, but he also received a red card in his third game for the Hammers.
14. Jan Kirchhoff vs Tottenham
When Kirchhoff made his debut in the 58th minute at White Hart Lane, Sunderland were still in the game at 1-1, but just 21 minutes later and they found themselves 4-1 down.
Kirchhoff gave away a penalty by fouling Danny Roses and in the words of his hastily edited Wikipedia page during the game: made a 'lazy attempt to block a goal from Christian Eriksen'.
15. Dimitri Foulquier vs Manchester City
After waiting two years for this very moment, Foulquier was substituted uninjured after just 33 minutes having made only nine touches and falling 5-0 down to City within 18 minutes. Crikey.
You're not alone, Thiago Silva
You know when people can't help looking at a car accident when they know they shouldn't? A similar principle seems to be at play here.
You should never revel in the failures of others, especially not on their first appearances, but sometimes you can't take your eyes off the calamities unfolding before you.
In terms of the Premier League, we still seem to be waiting for the Jonathan Woodgate gold standard after his infamous own goal and red card on his Real Madrid curtain-raiser.
But that's not to say that Silva and some of these past examples won't have been feeling similarly hopeless after their debut in the Premier League. At least, as they say, the only way is up.
