Chelsea have made a pretty unsteady start to their Premier League season.Sure, the Blues looked to have made the perfect start with an opening weekend win at Brighton & Hove Albion, but lest we forget how competitive the game at the Amex Stadium really was.Credit to them, though, a win is a win, but the same couldn't be said when champions Liverpool came to Stamford Bridge, running away 2-0 victors after Andreas Christensen's red card.

West Brom 3-3 Chelsea

Then, Chelsea's smorgasbord of results was rounded off with the 2020/21 Premier League's very first draw, coming from behind to rescue a point at the Hawthorns.

It was an incredible show of character from the London-based side with Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham all scoring to draw the game level.

That being said, we can't ignore the worrying defensive frailties that Chelsea showed during the first-half with Thiago Silva and Marcos Alonso looking particularly vulnerable early on.

Should Lampard be... sacked???

Individual errors were pivotal as Callum Robinson helped himself to a brace and Kyle Bartley popped up with the third, giving Blues fans unwanted deja vu after last season's woes.

One win, one draw and one defeat certainly shouldn't produce death knells at Stamford Bridge, but it should serve to temper suggestions that the Blues could challenge for the title this season.

At least.. that's how we see it, because clearly some Chelsea fans are panicking more than the results suggest they should and are even calling for Frank Lampard's head. Yes, seriously.

Chelsea fan wants Lampard out

Ok, sure, they make up something of a minority but one of them - going under the name 'Prince' - decided to make their feelings known by calling up talkSPORT on Sunday morning.

Prince, much to the bewilderment of Gabriel Agbonlahor in the studio, opined live on air that Lampard should be sacked if he can't explain why Antonio Rudiger didn't play this weekend.

"If I had my way, he [Lampard] would be gone today," Prince sensationally remarked. "Unless Frank can show us why Rudiger wasn't playing today, then he should be leaving Chelsea tonight.

"He should leave today. Why is Rudiger not playing? Why is he not playing Rudiger? For God's sake.

"When you go to grounds like this - West Brom, Stoke, Wolves - these are where you need Trojans, warhorses. Thiago has just come in, he doesn't understand the English league.

"You need Rudiger. You need warhorses. This is when you need the top guys."

GIVEMESPORT's Kobe Tong says

Here's a thought: no.

Let's remember for a second that Lampard guided Chelsea into the top four during the longest Premier League season in history with not a penny to spend and Eden Hazard having been sold.

And now, just three league games into his second campaign, we want to sack him when he's only actually lost one match and that was against the nearly-unbeatable reigning champions?

Look, I'm sorry, there might come a time where ditching Lampard makes sense but, with all due respect to Prince, that time isn't now and certainly not over Rudiger's place in the squad.
