Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has announced that he'll 'proudly' vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris while giving his first-ever presidential endorsement. The WWE legend turned Hollywood star, who has a huge celebrity platform, has confirmed that he's backing the Democratic candidates to win the 2020 US election. Posting a video on his social media on Sunday afternoon, Johnson reminded his followers that there's just five weeks until election day and urged everyone to get out and vote. He then explained his decision to endorse Biden and Harris, captioning the video: "As a political independent and centrist for many years, I’ve voted for Democrats in the past and as well as Republicans."In this critical election, I believe Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are the best to lead our country, and as my first ever Presidential endorsement, I proudly endorse them for the presidential office of our United States.

During The Rock's endorsement video, Biden shared a message of acknowledging failure, taking responsibility and telling the truth.

Johnson then added that he hopes, with the Democrats in office, that the United States can make progress through 'decency, kindness and respect'.

"Progress takes courage, humanity, empathy, strength, grit, kindness and respect. Being kind and respectful to one another will always matter," he said.

The Rock has pushed a message of progress

"There’s a lot of ways that we as a human race can make progress. But the most powerful way for us to make progress, to me, is through humanity, is through decency.

"Progress through humanity, progress through decency, through equality. Progress through kindness, because kindness matters."

With a combined Twitter and Instagram following of over 214 million, The Rock's public endorsement of Biden and Harris is a powerful one.
