Conor McGregor has been busy showing off his ripped physique as he begins preparations for his potential crossover fight with Manny Pacquiao in the Middle East.
‘The Notorious’ had supposedly retired from fighting this summer following his impressive victory at UFC 246 over Donald Cerrone.
However, according to McGregor's MMA coach John Kavanagh, a deal has been done.
Speaking to Boxing Productions TV, Kavanagh said: “I believe both boxers have agreed fundamentally, behind the scenes there are a lot of terms and conditions and legal terms but I believe it will happen.
“I think it might be early next year but the wheels are in the motion and it looks like I’ll be coaching boxing again.”
The Pac-Man has also since confirmed this fight will go ahead with a statement from his office saying: “For the sake of all the Filipino Covid-19 victims, Senator Manny Pacquiao will be fighting UFC superstar Conor McGregor next year.
“The huge portion of his earnings will proceed to those who are affected nationwide by the pandemic.”
Pacquiao’s assistant Jayke Joson, meanwhile, added that both men are preparing for ‘one epic last boxing fight.’
The 32-year-old Irishman, who recently showed off his new look with a shaved head, demonstrated to his fans via social media that he has been working hard in the gym while on holiday with long time partner Dee Devlin in France.
In a recent caption, McGregor stated underneath the picture: “Fast athlete, we are not paid by the hour.”
Fans subsequently replied to this, with one saying: “Wow in serious shape," while a second fan said: “Manny Pacquiao is getting it.”
McGregor has previously boxed multiple world champion Floyd Mayweather back in August 2017 in Las Vegas, which he lost in the 10th round.
Pacquiao, meanwhile, is the only man in boxing history to hold world titles in eight different divisions. He beat Keith Thurman to win the WBA Welterweight Super Championship last July to take his professional record to 62 wins and seven defeats with 39 knockouts.
McGregor added following an impressive video of him sparring, which showed his extraordinary hand speed: “It will be a true honour to have faced two of the greatest boxers of the modern era.”
