Celtic are firmly on track for a big season in their history.

After securing their ninth league title last term, the Bhoys have big aspirations of reaching a landmark achievement.

Should Neil Lennon's side with the league again this term, it would secure a historic 10-in-a-row - an achievement that would perfectly cap off a decade of dominance.

But doing so could be easier said than done.

Despite dominating in years gone by, Celtic face huge competition this time around in the shape of their arch rivals.

Rangers FC are looking like genuine title challengers for the first time in many years, and that has to be a worry for Celtic.

Lennon's side currently sit in second place in the league and one point behind Steven Gerrard's side.

But with a game in hand the feeling is that the title is very much Celtic's to lose.

That said, they need to strengthen.

Nick Hammond has already completed several signings including Albian Ajeti, Vasilios Barkas, Shane Duffy and David Turnbull.

However Celtic still need more.

A left-back is seen as a top priority for the Bhoys this summer with several names already linked with a move.

But a fresh face has emerged as a potential signing.

Reports from the Daily Record have claimed that Celtic are interested in Casper Hojer.

The left-sided player, who plays for Aahrus GF, has just one year remaining on his contract with the club and could move on as his employers look to cash in.

It's claimed that Celtic would only need to pay £1.5million for the Danish star, however they could face significant competition to get a deal done.

The report states that Watford are also keen on a move for Hojer as they look to secure an immediate return to the Premier League this season.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This is certainly an area that Celtic need to strengthen.

The left-back spot has been an area of concern since the Boli Bolingoli situation unravelled earlier in the summer.

But with him now moving on, a replacement has to be signed.

Players such as Barry Douglas and Alfie Doughty have been linked with a move, but this could prove to be the ideal solution.

Casper Hojer is a player who is approaching his prime and so would be able to make an immediate impression.

Valued at £1.8million by Transfermarkt, the Danish defender would represent real value for money.

Whether a deal can be concluded remains to be seen, but Celtic don't have time to mess around if they're to get someone in before the window slams shut.
