Leeds United look set to be the Premier League's dark horses this term.

After storming to promotion from the Championship last term few would have expected the Whites to do anything more than battle to avoid relegation.

However it seems that Leeds are aiming much higher.

Two wins from their opening three league fixtures has given supporters a taste of what could be in store this season.

Leeds are used to battling at the top end of the Premier League, but after 16 years away it would take a brave man to bet against them pushing into the upper echelons of the league.

While Marcelo Bielsa deserves plenty of credit, he'd be nowhere without the players at his disposal.

The Argentine is keen to reward those who secured promotion for the club with a sustained run in his first team set-up this term, however Bielsa knows that they need to strengthen.

Three major signings have already been made in the shape of Robin Koch, Rodrigo and Diego Llorente, but Leeds are far from done.

Bielsa is determined to sign a central midfielder who can dictate play in the middle of the park and it seems that they may have found their man.

Phil Hay revealed on Monday morning that the club are in talks over a move for Michael Cuisance.

The 21-year-old currently plays for Bayern Munich but has been limited to just 11 first team appearances for the German giants since arriving at the club last summer.

With first team opportunities limited, Cuisance is keen to move on with a switch to Elland Road now on the card.

Few knew how quickly this one would develop, but according to Fabrizio Romano of Sky Italy, personal terms have already been agreed over a deal.

Taking to Twitter, Romano said: "Michaël Cuisance told to Bayern Münich board he wants to play.

"That’s why he agreed personal terms with Leeds.

"Bayern and Leeds United are still negotiating about the fee."

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

What a deal this would be for Leeds United.

Michael Cuisance is one of the best young players in Europe at the moment and so making a move to sign him would be a huge statement of intent.

In truth, I'm surprised that Bayern Munich are entertaining the prospect of letting him go permanently.

At 21 years of age the French midfielder is nowhere near reaching his full potential.

If Leeds and Marcelo Bielsa can work with him to develop him then they could have a frightening prospect on their hands.

Technically, he's a player who would fit right in at Elland Road and I'd be very excited to see how he got on should a move be finalised.
