Leeds United are not messing around this summer. After securing promotion from the Championship last term there was a question mark over just how easy it would be for the Whites to adapt to life in the fast lane.We can safely say that it's been a smooth transition. After winning the Championship by 10 clear points last term the Whites have carried that momentum into the new season and really hit the ground running. Two wins from three Premier League fixtures so far has sent Leeds into the upper echelons of the table, with their one defeat coming against reigning champions Liverpool.Of course it's early days but the feeling is that Bielsa's side have got their preparations just right. While the Argentine has kept the faith with the majority of the squad who secured promotion last term, there's been no doubt that the club needed to strengthen. As well as adding a number of very talented young players, Victor Orta and his recruitment team have worked tirelessly to sign the right players to bolster the first team squad.p1ejaeu7bh18ik2qk17ni9hi186j9.jpgRobin Koch, Rodrigo and Diego Llorente have already joined the club as senior additions, while a move for an attacking midfielder is also high on the priority list. However a move for one key target looks like it may have failed.Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Leeds United have had an offer for Rodrigo De Paul rejected.p1ejaevvbh1mpdcuv157q1kid1bolb.jpgThe Udinese playmaker is a long-term target for the club but are commanding a fee of around £35million for the star. That has led the club to pursue a deal for Bayern Munich starlet Michael Cuisance as a potential alternative. However De Paul is still a priority with Romano claiming that Leeds made an offer of €25million (£22.7million) which has been knocked back.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

It seems that a move for Rodrigo De Paul is fizzling out.

The Udinese star is undoubtedly a top talent and that's why Leeds United are so keen to get a deal done.

Valued at £27million by Transfermarkt, the playmaker scored seven and created seven more last term.

That's why the Italian side are asking for such a significant fee.

Recent links to Michael Cuisance and Todd Cantwell have suggested that Leeds could be growing tired of the stalemate as they look at other targets.

With just a week left of the international transfer window the Whites need to get some business done if they're to strengthen.

That's why it seems unlikely that Leeds will go back in for De Paul unless a significant compromise can be made in his asking price.
