Liverpool made it three wins from their opening three fixtures of the 2020-21 Premier League campaign with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Arsenal on Monday night. The reigning champions earned all three points thanks to goals from Sadio Mane, Andy Robertson and Diogo Jota. However, it was the visitors who took a shock lead midway through the first half at Anfield.Alexandre Lacazette capitalised on a defensive mistake by Robertson, who wasn’t anticipating Virgil van Dijk’s missed clearance. The ball landed perfectly to Lacazette, whose scuffed shot looped over Alisson and into the back of the net.Watch Lacazette’s goal here…Arsenal, though, were immediately pegged back by Mane, who many football fans on social media believe should have been sent off following an early challenge on Kieran Tierney.Mane was shown a second-minute yellow card after catching Tierney into the face with his arm, and it was the Senegalese forward who put the Reds back on level terms with a close-range tap-in.Watch Mane’s equaliser here…

Liverpool then completed the turnaround 10 minutes before half-time. Robertson redeemed himself for his earlier error with a clever close-range finish after being picked out at the back post by his fellow full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Both sides had chances to score around the hour-mark, but it was Lacazette who spurned the best opportunity.

The French striker found himself one-on-one with Alisson but his shot was straight at the Brazilian ‘keeper.

He knew this was a costly miss. His reaction on the bench after being substituted for Eddie Nketiah said it all...

Jota, one of Liverpool's summer signings, entered the fray in the closing stages and should have opened his account when Salah's sublime pass found him at the back post.

The former Wolves star had time to pick his spot but could only find the side-netting.

But the Portuguese forward made amends - and killed the game - moments later with a smart finish from the edge of the box.
