Liverpool sealed a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Arsenal at Anfield on Monday night.

The Reds found themselves 1-0 down midway through the first half when Alexandre Lacazette gave the Gunners a shock lead.

However, Liverpool responded immediately through Sadio Mane before Andy Robertson put the hosts 2-1 up.

Summer signing Diogo Jota then added gloss to the scoreline late on with his first goal for the club.

On hand to analyse the game inside Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football studio were Jamie Carragher and Manchester United legend Roy Keane.

Jurgen Klopp came on air for the post-match interview and overheard Keane calling his team’s performance “sloppy”.

The Liverpool boss did not take kindly to this assessment - and wasn’t afraid to call Keane out.

Klopp, bemused by Keane’s comments, said: “Did I hear right that Mr. Keane said we had a sloppy performance tonight? I could hear you already. Did he say that?”

Keane replied: “I think they gave up one or two opportunities that they’d be disappointed with.”

Klopp, still baffled, added: “Did he say that? ‘This was a sloppy performance tonight?’

“I’m not sure I heard it right. Maybe he was talking about another game. Cannot be this game, sorry. That’s an incredible description of this game. That was absolutely exceptional - nothing was sloppy. Absolutely nothing. From the first second dominant against a team in form.

“About this game tonight, there’s nothing bad to say.”

Keane, backtracking slightly, said: “I said there were sloppy moments but I think you’ve been outstanding. I’ve been giving the club nothing but praise, so I’m not sure if you heard me correctly there.”

Klopp then said he would watch the interview to find out exactly what Keane said.

Awkward.

After the interview was over, Keane said: “Very sensitive, Jesus. Imagine if he’d lost.”

And this was Keane’s reaction inside the studio…

Who doesn’t love a little bit of post-match drama, eh?
