Monday Night RAW was always going to be stacked after an impressive Clash of Champions PPV at the weekend.

There was plenty of fallout from Drew McIntyre vs Randy Orton, with the WWE Champion opening and closing the show.

On Sunday, 'The Scottish Psychopath' successfully defended his belt against 'The Viper' in an ambulance match.

With a little help from four legends - Big Show, Christian, Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair - McIntyre was able to punt kick Orton into the back of the ambulance to finish the bout.

He opened RAW 24 hours later by celebrating victory and thanking the four greats for their help.

To close the show, he then issued an open challenge for the WWE Championship, which anybody that hadn't previously fought him could answer.

So who answered the call? None other than Robert Roode.

Roode returned to WWE on Monday

The 'Glorious' one has been absent from WWE since Elimination Chamber back in February and hasn't been seen on TV for seven months.

His absence wasn't injury-related, but instead, it's believed he had issues leaving Canada due to travel restrictions imposed during the coronavirus pandemic.

But Roode is finally back and on his return, was thrown into the deep end with a match against McIntyre for the WWE Championship.

Roode was impressive vs McIntyre

He was pretty impressive too, performing in the main event match that lasted more 12-minutes.

Unsurprisingly though, it was McIntyre who secured the pinfall, nailing his opponent with a Claymore Kick before covering him for the three-count.

After defeat to the WWE Champion, it's not clear what's next for Roode, who probably won't get another shot at the top prize.

Orton will challenge McIntyre again

That's because, despite being beaten twice by McIntyre at SummerSlam and Clash of Champions, it's Orton who will likely face him again at Hell in Cell later this month.
