Leeds are set to be rather active in the final week of the window.

Victor Orta will have hoped to be done in the market, but he's suffered various setbacks which means the Whites will have to get their chequebook out closer to the deadline than first wanted.

The defenders have been signed - Robin Koch and Diego Llorente - but they still require an attacking midfielder.

A variety of player have been linked with a move to Elland Road this summer. Firstly, it was Emiliano Buendia at Norwich, but their number one target from a creative point of view has been Rodrigo de Paul.

Leeds have been pursuing the Argentine for a number of weeks now but they haven't been able to get a deal done. Udinese simply want far too much money.

Their need for another creative player has taken on a new sense of urgency recently. Pablo Hernandez's injury means that they have a void to fill.

It's not known how the Spaniard will be able to handle a 38-game season at the age of 35 so it would be wise to add some cover.

Fortunately, it looks as though they're going to test the waters with a new bid this week.

According to talkSPORT, Leeds are about to submit a £15m offer to sign Todd Cantwell from Norwich.

That comes after the Whites agreed to sign Bayern Munich's Michael Cuisance.

After wrapping up that deal, Orta wants to focus on Cantwell, who is available for a fairly cheap fee after being relegated with the Canaries last season.

Transfer insider Alex Crook told Jim White:

"They want Todd Cantwell from Norwich as well, and are lining up a possible £15m move for him before next week."

GIVEMESPORT'S Matt Dawson says...

This would be a brilliant bit of business from Leeds if they can get it over the line.

Cantwell is one of the most exciting young English players coming through and his proven track record in the Premier League last term means £15m would be a relative bargain.

The 22-year-old scored six times last term, as well as producing two assists in a rather weak attacking unit.

Although he couldn't keep Daniel Farke's side in the division, he earned plenty of praise from pundits.

Chris Sutton said in February on MOTD: "I think this boy is going places as well. I really do. I think he takes the ball beautifully.

"He’s a terrific talent. Wonderful awareness and we will be seeing him play for a top-six club in the near future."

Todd Cantwell

Leeds may not be a top-six club but it speaks volumes about the type of quality that Cantwell has.

Last term, he was fouled 1.8 times per game and so far this season, he has been brought down illegally on 3.5 occasions a match.

Of the current Leeds squad, only Luke Ayling was fouled more than Cantwell last campaign. Thus, he'd certainly add a different dimension to the side. After all, Paul Robinson thinks he'd be a "perfect fit" for Bielsa.

There is nothing else to say.
