It’s fair to say Jose Mourinho was heavily involved during Chelsea vs Tottenham in the Carabao Cup.After suggesting he was going to heavily rotate his side after playing Newcastle on Sunday and a Europa League game upcoming on Thursday, Mourinho fielded a fairly strong side. But he couldn’t stop Timo Werner from putting Chelsea 1-0 ahead in the first half. That clearly annoyed Mourinho who was then embroiled in a touchline argument with his former player, Frank Lampard.Mourinho was heard shouting: “F***ing hell Frank, when you're losing 3-0 you're not standing up here” to his opposition manager.

But in the second half, Mourinho was involved in an even more bizarre incident.

His defender, Eric Dier, bizarrely ran down the tunnel during the game. Mourinho then ran after him.

Everyone was wondering what on earth was going on.

However, it soon became apparent that Dier simply needed a toilet break and soon emerged with Mourinho following behind him.

Dier was soon back on the pitch and he even played a role in helping Spurs equalise.

With just a few minutes remaining, he played a great ball out to Sergio Reguilon to set up Eric Lamela to force the tie into penalties.

And it was Tottenham who triumphed after Mason Mount missed the crucial penalty, missing the target after the previous nine takers had scored.

Spurs are through to the quarter-finals and Mourinho will be delighted to have got one over Lampard.

And Dier will be delighted to be able to go to the toilet in peace...
