Manchester United are running out of time to strengthen their squad.
Ed Woodward and co. have had months to get deals over the line, but have so far only managed to bring in midfielder Donny van de Beek from Ajax.
The transfer window closes next Monday (October 5) and fans are deeply concerned that the club will fail to seal their top targets in time.
United remain determined to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho but are not prepared to meet the German club’s €120 million asking price, according to various reports.
Unless this changes, Sancho will almost certainly remain at Signal Iduna Park for the 2020-21 campaign.
One of United’s back-up options - according to The Times - is Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele.
The 23-year-old, who Barça signed for £135.5 million in the summer of 2017, is available for at little as £45 million.
However, The Times understand that United are only interested in signing the French World Cup winner on a season-long loan deal if their pursuit of Sancho ends in failure.
Judging by social media, the vast majority of fans would prefer to see Sancho at Old Trafford over Dembele.
Dembele has suffered from a host of injury problems over the past three seasons, limiting him to just 75 appearances since his arrival.
Furthermore, discipline has also been an issue. It was reported this week by Spanish newspaper Marca that Dembele recently turned up late for training. It’s not the first time this has happened, either.
Sceptical Man Utd fans are sharing a cruel - but admittedly funny - video of their potential signing.
It shows some of Dembele’s dismal attempts at kick-ups at his Barcelona presentation, some of his worst misses and even the Frenchman being wheeled about in a wheelchair following an injury.

Here's some of the reaction to the video...
It’s important to note that Dembele, despite his issues, is a phenomenally talented forward.
He was outrageously good at Dortmund and has shown plenty of flashes of brilliance in a Barcelona shirt.
If he does end up at Old Trafford before the window closes, don’t bet against him silencing a few of his doubters.
