Donny van de Beek's start to life at Manchester United has been far from the greatest.
The Dutch star was signed from Ajax this summer for an initial fee of around £35m, but has started just one of United's opening three games.
Van de Beek did at least open his goal scoring account for the Red Devils after coming off the bench in the 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old was then given a start in the Carabao Cup against Luton Town, before being condemned to the bench once again away at Brighton.
Van de Beek was brought on with just a few minutes to go against the Seagulls and actually played a key role in United winning a penalty right at the death to seal all three points.
But the Dutchman's agent, Sjaak Swart, is livid with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's treatment of his client and he's made his feelings public.
“A substitute, I don’t like it at all," Swart said to Dutch publication VoetbalPrimeur. “I couldn’t do it myself, substituting in with four minutes left to play. Then you’d better let me sit down.
“I have to say he did three more good things. The penalty, where the winning goal came from, came from him.
“But normally they should have lost 1-7. Five times post and bar, Brighton. They have a nice team, but that shouldn’t happen to Manchester United.”
Safe to say he's not holding back one bit.
But Swart's frustration is understandable. After all, Van de Beek has shown his quality in the limited game time he has had in English football, while Paul Pogba has endured a torrid start to the 2020/21 season.
Were Solskjaer picking players on form rather than reputation, the Dutchman would simply have to be a starter.
All eyes will now be on the United manager's starting XI for the home fixture against Jose Mourinho's Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.
