Newcastle United have enjoyed a surprisingly good summer.
After the takeover disappointment at the end of last season it seemed that it was going to be another period of huge frustration for the supporters.
After all, a £300million takeover could have seen them become one of the richest clubs in the league.
But unfortunately fans' hopes were crushed as another year under the leadership of Mike Ashley became a reality.
While that was going on, Steve Bruce knew that he needed new additions to his first team squad.
Free transfer for Mark Gillespie and Jeff Hendrick immediately followed - a double deal which suggested that funds would be at a premium at St James' Park.
But what came next was a huge surprise.
Three signings in the space of 48 hours saw Newcastle complete the signings of Callum Wilson, Ryan Fraser and Jamal Lewis - all of which being deals that signalled a real change of pace from the usual business in the transfer window.
Many expected that the deals for the Bournemouth and Norwich City stars would signal the end of the club's transfer activity.
But that may not be the case.
Mark Douglas of Chronicle Live has been covering the club's exploits in the transfer market very closely and he believes that there could still be one or two new signings coming through the door before the transfer window slams shut.
Writing for Chronicle Live, Douglas said: "Midfield is one of the areas NUFC are still looking at.
"They've done the bulk of their pre-planned business but it wouldn't surprise me to see a couple more incomings - they still have the loan options and agents are offering names all the time.
"As clubs finalise plans, other players become available and the final few days of the window might seem movement."

Mark Douglas' update will come as a big surprise for Newcastle United fans.
Many assumed that the club had all-but finished their incoming transfer activity so far this summer, and for that you can't blame them.
Funds have been at a premium of late and so the deals to sign Callum Wilson and Jamal Lewis were expensive by the club's standards.
But with one or two more to arrive it could be an exciting week or so.
A central defender is one position which the club are thought to be looking at, while Douglas has also claimed that a midfielder is on the radar.
It remains to be seen who these specific targets will be, but it's certainly a situation that fans will be watching closely.
The calibre of the additions may depend on outgoings, however, with Newcastle seemingly keen to offload several fringe players.
