Eden Hazard's Real Madrid career is going from bad to worse.The Belgian wing wizard joined the Spanish giants last summer from Chelsea in a deal that's reportedly worth up to £150m.Since swapping London for Madrid, Hazard has found the going mighty tough and injuries have stopped him from building any momentum in the famous white jersey.Today, Los Blancos confirmed that the 29-year-old has picked up yet another injury and we won't be seeing the forward until after the international break."Following tests carried out today on our player, Eden Hazard, by Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in his right leg," the club said in a statement. "His recovery will continue to be assessed."
It's Hazard's fourth major injury since he arrived in Madrid last summer and that fact he's only had 15 injuries throughout the course of his professional career must be a serious concern for Zinedine Zidane.
Overall, the Belgian has played 687 games for club and country, missing just 66 games through being on the treatment table.
Amazingly, 32 of those games missed have been during his year-and-a-bit in Spain, with ankle issues contributing to 27 of the absences in question.
But while injuries have seen Hazard spend prolonged periods off the playing field, his form on it when available hasn't exactly been great.
In 22 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid, Hazard has scored just one goal and hasn't found the back of the net for the club since October 5, 2019.
Okay, he has contributed with seven assists as well, but eight goal involvements from one of the most expensive footballers of all time? That's just not acceptable I'm afraid.
Fans of the club are understandably growing frustrated with the Hazard situation and it's hard to see how the Belgian can turn the tide in the coming months.
He's bereft of confidence and appears miles away from match fitness, two things we rarely saw from him at both Lille and Chelsea.
The Belgian, Antoine Griezmann, Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele are warnings to all big clubs across the world that spending £100m+ will not always guarantee positive results.
