Eden Hazard’s Real Madrid career has hit another low with the club confirming that he has suffered a muscle injury in his right leg.The Belgian’s debut season at the Bernabeu was a major disappointment. Injuries and poor form meant he played in just 16 league games, managing one goal.Hazard would have been eager to put that behind him and kick on in 2020/21, but it’s another step backwards with confirmation of his latest injury."Following tests carried out today on our player, Eden Hazard, by Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in his right leg," a club statement read. "His recovery will continue to be assessed."p1ejfren6rmn517uf1j37nuc1djlb.jpgHazard fulfilled his dream of a lifetime when he signed for the Spanish giants last year, which makes his injury woes all the more saddening.“I dreamed of this moment when I was very little, ever since I started playing football in the garden with Thorgan, Kylian, Ethan,” he said upon his arrival. The 29-year-old gave up his status as an icon at Chelsea to join Real. Yet those same fans who once chanted his name from the stands at Stamford Bridge would welcome his return.p1ejfrh11v88cbsc2t1d9i1rsrf.jpgHazard still holds a special place in the hearts of Chelsea’s supporters. He became a club legend after winning two Premier League titles with the Blues. And many are sharing a nostalgic video from his time at the club, which bears the caption: ‘Come home king’.The video starts with Hazard’s message to Chelsea fans as his move to Real Madrid moved closer to completion.“I love them, they’re part of my family,” he said.It then features some of his best moments from his time at the club. And how good those moments were. Many Chelsea fans are certainly keen for Hazard to return. Check out the reaction on Twitter to his latest setback.

Will it happen? Well, the winger signed a five-year contract at Real that doesn’t expire until 2024, and we can’t imagine the reigning Spanish champions will be keen to sell a player they spent more than £100 million on just yet.

But if it truly doesn’t work out and Hazard’s Real career begins to resemble that of Gareth Bale’s, it wouldn’t be a massive surprise if he copied the Welshman and returned to more comfortable surroundings.
