The draw for the 2020/21 Champions League group stage has been made.
Europe’s elite teams have learned which sides they will take on in their attempts to reach the knockout stage of the tournament.
It wasn’t that long ago that Bayern Munich defeated Paris Saint-Germain to become champions of Europe.
Last season’s competition finished later on than usual due to the coronavirus shutdown, meaning that we’re already preparing for the start of the newest edition.
Not that we’re complaining.
Four English teams were among the 32 in the group stage draw, including 2019 champions Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp’s side joined Bayern Munich in Pot 1.
Meanwhile, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea, who will enter the tournament with more than £200 million in summer investment, were in Pot 2.
Last season’s competition ended in disappointment once again for Pep Guardiola’s City, who were beaten by Lyon in their one-legged quarter-final tie.
They will have the final in their sights once again though. It will take place at the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul on May 29, 2021.
Here’s the draw in full…
