After Tottenham's thrashing of Southampton a couple of weeks ago, in which Heung-min Son smashed in four goals, thousands of FPL managers understandably rushed to get the South Korean in their teams.

But 45 minutes into Tottenham's next game, against Newcastle, Son was pulled off at the break and has now been confirmed to have suffered a hamstring injury, with the forward expected to be sidelined until after the international period.

This is, of course, problematic for the thousands of FPL managers who now have a £9m-rated midfielder burning a pretty expensive hole in their midfield, especially as he could miss more than just one Premier League gameweek.

Some of you may take the gamble and keep in your side, but that's only really a viable option if you have strong enough bench options to deputise.

So if you don't have decent enough bench options or just fancy bringing in someone fresh in place of Son for GW4, below are five options to consider, all of which are cheaper than the Spurs forward and will give you more room more maneuver elsewhere in your squad if you need it...

Wilfried Zaha - £7.2m

Crystal Palace have had a wonderful start to 20/21 by winning two of their three opening league fixtures, including a 3-1 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Wilfried Zaha has been central to the Eagles' form, scoring three of their five goals so far, and he isn't showing any signs of letting up that form.

The Ivorian is averaging almost three shots-per-game and is making over one key pass-per-game, making him Palace's most creative outlet in attack so far this term.

Palace do have a difficult fixture away at Chelsea this weekend but after that, their fixtures are attractive, with Fantasy Premier League's Fixture Difficulty ranking showing that their next "hard" fixture is against Liverpool at Selhurst Park on December 19.

Before then, Palace play the likes of Brighton (H), Fulham (A), Newcastle (H) and West Brom (A), which are games in which you would expect Zaha to pick up more valuable FPL points.

Harvey Barnes - £7.0m

Harvey Barnes scores against Burnley

Last season, Harvey Barnes was seen as a bit of a rotation risk amongst FPL managers as he battled for minutes with the likes of Ayoze Perez, Marc Albrighton and Demarai Gray,

But so far this term he's played every minute of Leicester's emphatic start to 20/21, picking up 18 FPL points in the process.

Barnes scored and assisted in Leicester's only home league game of the season so far, a 4-2 win over Burnley and it appears Brendan Rodgers' trust in the youngster will continue to pay dividends throughout the season, especially if he keeps up his current average of four shots-per-game.

Leicester host West Ham at the King Power this weekend and, given their current form, they will be favourites to keep up their 100% record in the league. At just £7.0m, Barnes is £2.0m cheaper than Son, which gives you a nice bit of free cash to reinvest in other areas of your FPL team.

Leicester's upcoming fixtures are pretty attractive, too, with Aston Villa (H), Arsenal (A), Leeds (A) and Wolves (H) to follow this weekend's clash against the Hammers, and we expect Barnes to be in amongst the FPL point throughout that run.

James Rodriguez - £7.7m

James Rodriguez scores against West Brom

Everton are another side with a 100% Premier League record after three games, and it has been no surprise to see James Rodriguez being crucial to the Toffees' strong start to 20/21.

The former Real Madrid star has been central to Everton's new-found attacking threat, providing a goal and an assist so far, while also averaging 3.3 key passes-per-game.

While Dominic Calver-Lewin has been the man grabbing almost all of the goals for Everton so far, Rodriguez has been the creative influence to allow the striker the time and service to get on the scoresheet.

Having also averaged 2.2 shots-per-game, Rodriguez is going to be involved in goals one way or another this season and at just £7.7m, he represents a well-priced option for any FPL manager's midfield.

Everton host Brighton this weekend, as well, which the Toffees will be favourites for, allowing the Colombian the chance to rack up even more FPL points in the process.

Lucas Moura - £6.9m

Lucas Moura scores v Newcastle

If you're transferring out Son but don't want to miss out on any Tottenham returns moving forward, Lucas Moura is an obvious option in midfield and he's currently £2.1m cheaper than his Spurs colleague.

The Brazilian rarely completes a full 90 minutes, doing so just once so far this season, but in Son's absence he is likely going to be given more responsibility in Tottenham's attack.

Moura netted the opener in Spurs' controversial 1-1 home draw with Newcastle last weekend and is so far averaging almost two shots-per-game, and now, with more chance to be amongst the goals while Son is sidelined, he is well placed to build on that.

From a consistency point of view, Moura is perhaps a risky option for your FPL team, but his price does allow you to reinvest in other areas of your team if you need to.

Spurs travel to Old Trafford this weekend but do have a run of favourable fixtures to come, with West Ham (H), Burnley (A), Brighton (H) and West Brom (A) coming up after the international break.

Jarrod Bowen - £6.3m

Jarrod Bowen scores v Wolves

West Ham got their season up and running last weekend with an emphatic 4-0 home win over Wolves, which was arguably one of the biggest shocks of the season so far.

Jarrod Bowen's brace in that victory set the Hammers well on their way on Sunday and the winger's form warranted goals, especially after an impressive showing against Arsenal last time out.

Despite losing their first two games, the Hammers have averaged 14.7 shots-per-game, with Bowen averaging 2.7 shots-per-game, making him one of the main attacking threats in the Hammers' forward line.

Now the 23-year-old is off the mark for the season, it should give him the confidence to push on and build on that, especially as he arrived at the Hammers on the back of earning a reputation as a top goalscorer at Hull City in the Championship - he will want to live up to such expectation in the Premier League.

The Hammers do face a difficult few fixtures in the coming gameweeks, however, with Leicester away this weekend being followed by Tottenham (A), Man City (H) and Liverpool (A) after the international break.
