Leeds United are facing a race against time to complete all their necessary business before the window closes next Monday.

Up until now, it looked as though Victor Orta had done everything perfectly.

However, if they want to sign a midfielder and a winger, they will have to wrap things up incredibly quickly.

Michael Cuisance's move to Elland Road fell through after he failed his medical and as a result, they will have to dip their toes into the market elsewhere.

A move for Cagliari powerhouse Nahitan Nandez has been touted as an alternative while personal terms have reportedly been agreed to sign Norwich winger Todd Cantwell.

If you thought Orta had been busy in the last few months, he will now be more stressed than ever as he chases one or two more new signings.

A winger seems to be the biggest priority and in recent weeks, both Dan James and Ryan Kent have been mentioned in the same breath as Leeds.

Another talented winger the club have pondered moving for this summer is Liverpool's Harry Wilson.

That came from reports that first emerged two months ago and since that point, nothing has really materialised.

Though, with Leeds assessing their options ahead of Monday, Wilson could now become a genuine target.

Fresh reports from Goal state that a number of Premier League teams are now interested in his services so it won't be an easy pursuit for the Whites.

Southampton, Fulham and Newcastle are three other sides to have expressed an interest in landing the Welshman.

Previous claims indicate that he could cost in the region of £20m

Harry Wilson

GIVEMESPORT'S Matt Dawson says...

Wilson is a promising young player who hasn't quite had the rub of the green at Liverpool.

In what was his first Reds appearance since 2017 against Arsenal on Thursday evening, he looked promising but eventually missed the deciding penalty during the shoot-out.

That won't have done his confidence much good but Leeds are all too aware of the qualities he actually has.

Marcelo Bielsa described him as "exceptional" when the two teams faced off in the Championship, and those words were proven right when they met in the 2018/19 play-offs.

Leeds supporters won't like being reminded of that 4-2 defeat against the Rams, but on that day, Wilson absolutely embarrassed the likes of Liam Cooper and Gaetano Berardi.

The winger stuck away a penalty and also assisted one of the goals, going onto being fouled four times as he completed two successful dribbles.

Remarkably, he was also impressive in the air, winning three aerial battles against the Leeds defence.

Wilson has since proven he can do it in the Premier League too. The 23-year-old scored seven goals for Bournemouth last term.
