Rhian Brewster has officially completed his £23.5m move to Sheffield United. The exciting 20-year-old striker has been eager for first-team football in 2020/21 after impressing on loan in the Championship with Swansea City last season, scoring 11 goals in 22 games.Sadly, he was never going to earn valuable minutes at Liverpool this campaign, with Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Takumi Minamino and Diogo Jota firmly ahead of the Englishman in the pecking order.Brewster's move to the Blades will include a buy-back clause and Liverpool will also be entitled to 15% of a sell-on fee. It's a deal that benefits both parties. Sheffield United are signing a quality goal scorer and if Brewster sets the world alight at Bramall Lane, Liverpool can reacquire his services with ease.

The Reds are also receiving a handsome fee for the U17 World Cup winner and it's yet another instance of Liverpool playing the transfer market superbly.

Over the past few years, the Premier League champions have managed to sell players for far more than they were worth, while other big teams have failed to do the same.

Below, we've provided nine other times Liverpool have sold squad players for eye-catching fees during the Jurgen Klopp era.

Ki-Jana Hoever to Wolves (£13.50m)

Hoever in action for Liverpool

A promising talent, but over £13m for an 18-year-old kid who made zero Premier League appearances for Liverpool? Not bad. The move also helped pave the way for Jota's arrival at Anfield this summer.

Dejan Lovren to Zenit (£10.80m)

How Liverpool convinced anyone to spend actual money on the error-prone Croatian is one thing, but over £10m?! Pure genius from those in the board room. The Reds' sporting director Michael Edwards should write and sell a book detailing his negotiating tactics.

Dominic Solanke to Bournemouth (£20m)

This still beggars belief to this very day. In 27 appearances for Liverpool, Solanke scored just one goal, but the Reds somehow convinced the Cherries to cough up £20m. He's found the back of the net only five times in 50 games with the south coast outfit...

Danny Ward to Leicester (£12.60m)

Ward with Liverpool

After making just three appearances for Liverpool's senior team, the Reds offloaded the Welshman to Leicester where Ward has managed just 10 outings in his two years at the club. That's £1.26m per game!

Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona (£130.50m)

The third most expensive footballer of all time, a deal that could cost Barcelona as much as £146m with all the add-ons. Yes, Coutinho is a wonderful footballer, but his sale helped fund the moves for both Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk, creating the all-conquering Liverpool side we see in the present day.

Mamadou Sakho to Crystal Palace (£25.38m)

The Frenchman was pretty decent during his four years at Liverpool, but was he worth £25m in the summer of 2017? Absolutely not. Another masterstroke by the Reds' hierarchy.

Christian Benteke to Crystal Palace (£28m)

Klopp & Benteke

Liverpool may have made a loss on Benteke, but the fact they managed to recoup £28m of their £32.5m investment after the Belgian striker's one woeful season on Merseyside is nothing short of miraculous.

Joe Allen to Stoke City (£13.95m)

Following a sub-par four years at Anfield in which Allen was mostly just a squad player, Liverpool managed to recover nearly £14m of the £15m they handed Swansea to sign the Welshman in 2012. Decent business that.

Jordon Ibe to Bournemouth (£16.20m)

In his 58 appearances for Liverpool, Ibe scored just four goals. Yet, Bournemouth were somehow convinced into spending a club record fee to sign the winger in 2016, with Ibe scoring just five goals  in 92 games for the Cherries.

How on earth do they do it, eh?
