Sadio Mane has joined Thiago in testing positive for coronavirus at Liverpool.Rumours were circulating on Friday after he wasn't seen in training pictures ahead of Liverpool's trip to Aston Villa this weekend. And Liverpool confirmed the news on Friday evening. On the club's official website, they wrote: "Sadio Mane has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently self-isolating according to the necessary guidelines."The forward, who started and scored in Monday’s 3-1 victory over Arsenal, has displayed minor symptoms of the virus but feels in good health overall."However, like with Thiago Alcantara, Liverpool Football Club are – and will continue to – follow all protocols relating to COVID-19 and Mane will self-isolate for the required period of time."

Liverpool have won all three of the Premier League matches this season with Mane playing a key role in each of them.

He may not have scored during opening day 4-3 victory over Leeds but he gave defender Luke Ayling a few nightmares.

Then, in the second match against Chelsea, he scored twice and helped get Andreas Christensen sent off in the first-half.

He then scored the equaliser during Liverpool's 3-1 victory over Arsenal on Monday and was simply brilliant during the 90 minutes.

But now, he and Thiago will miss the trip to Aston Villa on Sunday as well as Senegal's international matches.

It was only earlier in the day that Jurgen Klopp, assumingly knowing that Mane had contracted Covid-19, admitted he was slightly concerned about the upcoming internationals and the restart fo the Champions League.

"I am slightly concerned because it is difficult to get in contact with all FAs (football associations) all over the world," said Klopp on Friday.

"I understand the demands on all FAs, UEFA, FIFA, I know how difficult the situation is for everybody. But it is just not exactly perfect the information we get from some FAs."
