Managerial battles don't come much better than Marcelo Bielsa versus Pep Guardiola.

Two of the greatest coaches in football history meet for the first time on English soil today when Manchester City visit Leeds United in the Premier League.

It's going to be an epic contest between two managerial titans and there's no doubt that both men will have some innovative tricks up their sleeve to use in today's game.

Bielsa's start to life in the Premier League has been very impressive. Leeds have won their last two games, including a 1-0 victory away at Sheffield United last time out.

Their only loss of the campaign was against Liverpool on the opening weekend and Leeds still managed to score three times at the home of the Premier League champions.

Bielsa & Guardiola

Bielsa is working his magic in the English top-flight, so much so that one City fan is eager for the Argentine to succeed Guardiola if the Spaniard does opt to leave the club at the end of the season.

“I hope Pep stays on longer than this season,” City supporter Sam told talkSPORT.

“But he HAS to win the Champions League to be regarded as a success, in my opinion. It’s the trophy the club wants.

“But, if he does go, I think Bielsa should take over and he should bring Patrick Bamford with him.”

Bamford celebrates

Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez feeding Bamford in 2021/22? Stranger things have happened in football!

Like Bielsa, Bamford has taken to the Premier League this season like a duck to water, scoring in each of Leeds' first three games.

Summer signing Rodrigo Moreno - Spain's number one striker at the moment - has had his game time restricted due to Bamford's brilliance up top as a result.

Who would have predicted that, eh?

Bamford in action

But even if the 27-year-old Englishman bags a hat-trick today at Elland Road, we can't see City lodging a bid to sign him anytime soon.
