Ben Chilwell's highlights from Chelsea 4-0 Crystal Palace are simply sensational

Ben Chilwell - what a Premier League debut!

Ben Chilwell's Premier League debut for Chelsea against Crystal Palace this afternoon could not have gone any better.

After a slightly shaky first half, the English left-back exploded into life in the second period, scoring and assisting in the Blues' 4-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

Chilwell opened the scoring, firing home in the box after latching onto a loose ball, before delivering a brilliant cross for Kurt Zouma to nod home for Chelsea's second of the game.

The former Leicester man was also impressive in defence, making numerous interventions to earn Frank Lampard's side their first clean sheet of the Premier League season.

Not bad, eh? Had you asked Chilwell his dream outcome for today's game prior to kick-off, the way it panned out probably met - or even exceeded - his wildest fantasy.

Chilwell celebrates his goal

After watching Marcos Alonso struggle on the left-hand side of the defence for much of the Lampard era, Chilwell's performance today has understandably left Chelsea fans on social media in buoyant moods.

So to satisfy the cravings of the Blues faithful, we've provided Chilwell's highlights from his man-of-the-the-match display against Palace below thanks to @BnsComps - enjoy!

Did someone say Ashley Cole 2.0?

That was - of course - a joke, but it does appear as if Chelsea have finally found a solution to their issues at left-back.

On top of his goal contributions, Chilwell made three interceptions, played three key passes and won 100% of his aerial duels.

The 23-year-old is also just the third Chelsea player to score AND assist on Premier League debut, Deco and Alvaro Morata being the first two to achieve the feat.

"I thought Ben Chilwell was fantastic in his contribution in all senses," Lampard said after the game, per Football London. "I thought he got his goal, assists, his defensive play, his engine to arrive into attack from that left-hand side and he is always ready to join in all the time.

"Getting up and down, considering the injury he has had. With Ben, he is Premier League ready, you could see that with as well as he has done for Leicester. He looked like he had played with us for a long time."
