Did someone say Ashley Cole 2.0?

That was - of course - a joke, but it does appear as if Chelsea have finally found a solution to their issues at left-back.

On top of his goal contributions, Chilwell made three interceptions, played three key passes and won 100% of his aerial duels.

The 23-year-old is also just the third Chelsea player to score AND assist on Premier League debut, Deco and Alvaro Morata being the first two to achieve the feat.

"I thought Ben Chilwell was fantastic in his contribution in all senses," Lampard said after the game, per Football London. "I thought he got his goal, assists, his defensive play, his engine to arrive into attack from that left-hand side and he is always ready to join in all the time.

"Getting up and down, considering the injury he has had. With Ben, he is Premier League ready, you could see that with as well as he has done for Leicester. He looked like he had played with us for a long time."
