West Ham’s transfer dealings continue to face severe scrutiny.

The Hammers have not properly strengthened in this transfer window, signing Vladimir Coufal from Slavia Prague and converting Tomas Soucek’s loan deal into a permanent one.

That’s it.

In terms of outgoings, Grady Diangana moved to West Bromwich Albion in a deal that drew the ire of fans and led to a promise from the club that the money banked – around £18m – would be reinvested wholly into the squad.

That hasn’t really happened, either.

Now, though, there is a report stating that they could lose another young talent before Monday’s transfer deadline.

Adrian Kajumba, the Daily Mail journalist, claims that there is interest from foreign shores in Josh Cullen, the midfielder.

Cullen, of course, spent last season on loan at Charlton Athletic and has somewhat struggled to make a breakthrough in east London.

But Anderlecht are said to be interested in snaffling him away as the window nears its end.

Cullen has struggled for minutes in recent seasons at the Hammers, when he hasn’t been out on loan, and has made just 10 appearances in total for the club.

This season, he played against Charlton in the EFL Cup but has not been included in any of Moyes’ squads for the Premier League fixtures to date.

He has a contract that runs until 2021, meaning this may be the last opportunity the Irons have to receive a fee for him.

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

This would be a bit of a shame.

Cullen has long been touted as a future star for the Hammers but he really hasn’t been given the chances required to become a first-team player.

He has repeatedly gone out on loan and this season, Moyes has barely used him, even though he has been in and around the squad.

He is clearly talented – he has two caps for the Republic of Ireland under his belt – but West Ham just don’t seem to see it.

Thus, perhaps a move to Anderlecht, a club who regularly play European football, could be just the tonic for him to revive his career.

He is still relatively young at the age of 24. Now is the time for him to move on.
