Manchester United have had a quiet transfer window.

Just one big name has been brought in this summer, with Donny van de Beek joining from Ajax in a £35 million deal.

With clubs around Man United seriously strengthening ahead of the 2020/21 season - Chelsea alone have spent over £220m - they're in danger of being left behind.

Jadon Sancho has long been linked with a switch to Old Trafford but with the window closing on Monday, October 5, it seems unlikely a deal will be done.

But Ed Woodward might manage to get one more big name through the door.

In the past few days, it's been rumoured that Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele could be on his way to Manchester.

The Frenchman only joined the Blaugrana in 2017 for a massive £96m, but according to The Sunday Times, he could complete a move to United for just £65m.

That certainly wouldn't be a bad deal, would it?

Interestingly, the report, per The Sun, states that 'Man United have managed to convince Dembele to make the switch after he had initial reservations'.

So, how have they done that?

Well, there have been previous suggestions that Paul Pogba has been messaging his international team-mate to convince him to join.

On top of that, the club is willing to offer Dembele a long-term deal which he favours and a move also gives him the opportunity to make a 'fresh start' after struggling at Barcelona

So far this season, the forward has played just 20 minutes of football under Ronald Koeman, suggesting he's not a big part of the Dutchman's plans for the campaign.

If he secures a move to Man United, it could be one that suits all parties. Ed Woodward may not be able to get Sancho, but Dembele isn't a bad alternative.
