Leeds United could be in store for a memorable campaign.

After spending 16 years away from the top flight it seems that the Whites are keen to make up for lost time this season.

Marcelo Bielsa's side cruised to glory in the Championship last term but knew that they faced a massive challenge to adapt to life in the fast lane.

However it seems that they had nothing to worry about.

Seven points from a possible 12 shows just how far the side have come as they look like dark horses to push themselves into the upper echelons of the table.

While Bielsa deserves plenty of credit, you can't look past the job that the players have done.

The Argentine boss is fiercely protective of the group of players who secured promotion for the club, and rightly so.

But that doesn't mean that strengthening hasn't been important.

As well as a flurry of young players, Leeds have signed several major first team players in the shape of Robin Koch, Diego Llorente and striker Rodrigo.

Add into that the deals for Helder Costa, Illan Meslier and Jack Harrison and you start to see just how busy Victor Orta and his recruitment team have been.

But with time running out before the transfer deadline it seems that Leeds aren't finished yet.

According to Kosovan journalist, Arlind Sadiku, the Whites are interested in a deal for Milot Rashica.

The Werder Bremen star is attracting plenty of interest this summer with Aston Villa and RB Leipzig said to be keen.

In fact, Dean Smith's side were said to be in advanced talks over a deal.

But according to Sadiku that move is off which could pave the way for Orta to bring him to Elland Road before the window slams shut.

Taking to Twitter, Sadiku said: "Southampton and Leeds United are in race to sign Milot Rashica.

"His move to Aston Villa is definitely off.

"If English clubs won't be able to agree personal terms with Rashica, he could easily stay at Werder Bremen until January."

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This could be a good piece of business.

Valued at £19.8million by Transfermarkt, the Werder Bremen star enjoyed a decent campaign last time out where he scored 11 goals and created eight for the German side.

The tricky winger is attracting plenty of interest and so Leeds must move quickly if they're to get him.

Described by Bremen's coach as 'someone who makes scoring look easy', Rashica would add pace, trickery and an end product to Marcelo Bielsa's side.

That means that he's seen as the full package.

Leeds face a race against the clock to get a deal done and so it'll be interesting to see what happens.
