Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Alex Telles from Porto. The left-back has been one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's top targets this summer and Sky Sports are reporting that a fee of around £22 million has been agreed to bring him to Old Trafford. He will now undergo a medical before signing a long-term contract with the Premier League club. On top of Sky's report, trusted Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano also shared the news on Sunday afternoon. "Manchester United and Porto have reached an agreement for Alex Telles!" he tweeted."Last details to be sorted on next few hours, then medicals and official announcement. Here we go soon!"

Telles, who made a total of 194 appearances for Porto, will complete his move on Transfer Deadline Day (Monday, October 5) before joining up with Brazil for the international break.

He could make his first appearance against Newcastle United when the Premier League resumes on October 17.

News that Man United have agreed a deal to sign a player ahead of Deadline Day will no doubt come as a relief to many supporters.

Telles will join Man United on Deadline Day

The club has struggled in the transfer market this summer, with just one high-profile name arriving ahead of Telles.

Donny van de Beek completed a £35 million switch in August but is yet to break into the starting XI, often being deployed from the bench.

On top of the Telles move, Man United are also finalising a deal to bring Edinson Cavani to Old Trafford.

Cavani is also on his way to Man United

The striker is expected to sign a two-year deal with the Red Devils, having spent the last seven years in France with Paris Saint-Germain

United might have had a quiet summer, but it seems that Ed Woodward might be able to pull it out of the bag on Deadline Day.
