Chelsea have been spashing the cash so far this summer.

After a frustrating year in which the club were restrained by a global transfer ban, the Blues had to watch on as their rivals ran riot in the transfer market.

But this year they've made up for lost time.

Chelsea have spent over £200million on new signings this summer with some massive names joining the ranks at Stamford Bridge.

Those players are Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, Malang Sarr, Kai Havertz and Edouard Mendy.

The hope is that those players can help the Blues to kick on this term.

Chelsea finished in fourth place last term but have aspirations of improving this season as they look to push Liverpool and Manchester City for the Premier League title.

While those additions will surely move them a step closer to doing that, it seems that Chelsea are still looking for one more major signing.

Reports from 90min.com have claimed that Frank Lampard is pushing the Blues' hierarchy to complete a deal for Declan Rice.

Chelsea have been regularly linked with a move for the West Ham United star but are yet to make any real progress.

Valued at £44.55million by Transfermarkt, Rice started his career in the youth setup at Stamford Bridge before being released as a teenager.

It was then that he made the trip across London to link up with the Irons, where he has gone on to make 114 appearances.

A major stumbling block is proving to be the asking price, with West Ham seemingly looking for a fee of around £80million to do a deal.

While Chelsea are unlikely to pay that amount, the report from 90min claims that Lampard is urging his seniors to pay whatever it takes to add the final piece of the jigsaw.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

What a deal this would be.

Chelsea have enjoyed the sort of summer that you only ever see on Football Manager, and this really would put the cherry on top.

Declan Rice is a top player and someone that Frank Lampard is clearly determined to sign.

Being honest, I'd be hugely surprised if Chelsea splashed out on this deal at such a late stage of the transfer window.

But if they did it would be a massive signal of intent.

What his departure would mean for West Ham's ambitions this season remains to be seen, but losing such a player would undoubtedly be a blow.
