The 2020 European summer transfer window is officially over.

Despite football being in the midst of a global pandemic, teams from across the world still pulled off some huge deals over the past four months.

A whopping 16 players moved between clubs for a fee of €40m+ this summer, the most expensive deal coming in at €80m.

Amazingly, Premier League clubs accounted for 16 of the 25 most expensive transfers completed, Serie A and La Liga joint second with three deals apiece.

Ligue 1 (2) and the Bundesliga (1) make up the remaining three transfers and you can view the top 25 in full - and in order - below.

Premier League clubs just love getting the chequebook out in the summer months, don't they?

Chelsea are the club who feature the most in the top 25, four of Frank Lampard's new additions making the cut and three of them featuring in the top 10 - with Havertz at number one.

The one major European heavyweight missing from the top 25 is Real Madrid and that's because for the first time in 40 years, Los Blancos didn't sign a single player in the summer window.
